Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could wipe out many of the horrible illnesses and diseases for our children and grandchildren??

I'm talking about THE CAUSES ...... and without drugs [chemicals] that only treat the symptoms and create more toxic side effects.
THE DIABETIC CURSE

'We're the most overfed and under nourished nation on earth' ......
Obesity in American Children is setting them up for some very serious diseases ....... diabetes to name one. And who wouldn't want to PREVENT their child from needing daily insulin shots, kidney dialysis and blindness if they possibly could?

Discipline is easy to prescribe yet so hard to practice .... for ourselves and our children.

Reduce their blood sugar levels
....Sodas, sweetened drinks, fruit juice, pop tarts, frosted cereals, chips, fast food grease, french fries, moon pies
....The QUICKEST WAY is to pick one high sugar or fat item at a time and at least cut their intake in half and work toward eliminating it from their regular diet
.... Let a sweet snack be a reward or a special treat rather than a daily staple
Help them to develop a thirst and desire for COOL, CLEAR, WATER.
.... Our bodies are about 80% water and keeping our daily intake up is one of the healtiest choices we can make
.... Water helps increase the metabolic rate, facilitates absorption of nutrients, flushes toxic waste out of the system and eases the stress on kidneys
.... If tap water is questionable, try distilled or spring water .... ADD ICE, make it into a SLUSHY.... have them drink one glass in between their preferred drinks. Whatever it takes!

MAKING DAILY NUTRITION SIMPLE AND FUN

In our hectic world, we end up resorting to whatever is fast and the kids won't fuss about. I've been there too.

Great news! Many parents are pleasantly surprised by something as simple as eliminating nutritional imbalances and deficiencies.

So if you don't have time to shop, cook and coax the kids to eat what's good for them, try quality vitamins and nutritional supplements.
I'd be happy to share a recommendation that most kids love and even a nutritious 'slushy' that provides them with their veggie complex without the gags and tantrums!

If we can get our children into healthy nutrition habits when they are young, we may save them a host of pain and provide a longer, healthier, happier life.

Perhaps making the daily food pyramid for children a little fun might help. The USDA provides a great nutritional guideline for children and a daily 'gold star' list, as I call it. PLEASE SAY NO TO RITALIN AS A FIRST OPTION

I'm on a real rant when it comes to our kids and ritalin. My child was diagnosed with ADD [as it was originally called] when he was in third grade, and we chose to follow other options besides introducing our child to drugs, especially those affecting the brain and for behaviour modification. We were very pleased with a natural, non-medicated approach. And I'm proud to say that this very same child graduated with high honors from Georgia Tech and MBA [Columbia University]
.....without ritalin or other ADHD drugs.

Many are unaware that nutritional deficiencies and imbalances are often behind performance and health concerns. It's up to each parent to do what they feel is best for their children. All I can do is provide the awareness.

My hope is that parents, teachers and school officials increase their awareness that there ARE healthier OPTIONS which could at least be tried FIRST. And if the natural options are not the answer, then try the chemicals. Please join me in saying NO TO RITALIN .... at least until natural options are explored.

TOXIC HAZARDS
We're learning more and more about the dangers of pesticides, chemicals, mercury, lead, food additives, food colorings, artificial sweeteners, prescription drugs and the list goes on and on.

The Simplest Step you can take for the health of your child is to eliminate as many of the synthetics and chemicals from their diets and environments as you possibly can.

Sometimes it feels like we need to be rocket scientists just to decipher the ingredients and labels. If you have questions about some ingredients, send me an email and I'll try to send you what I have accumulated research on.

Why is it that we have to learn about these horrible hazards AFTER they have done their damage?
